The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in the following statement: "As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces' units to combat motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese regions, and after the Information Branch recently arrested some members of a gang involved in armed motorcycle thefts on the airport road, the relevant units continued their investigative and field efforts to identify the mastermind of the aforementioned gang.

As a result of intensive investigations and field inquiries, the branch identified the mastermind as M. K. (born in 2002, Lebanese), who is wanted under multiple arrest warrants and notices for investigations into murder, robbery, gang formation, and gunfire.

On May 31, 2024, following detailed surveillance, the Information Branch patrols successfully executed a swift and targeted operation in Baalbek, during which they arrested him.

During the investigation, he confessed to leading gangs that carried out armed motorcycle thefts, supplying his members with firearms to execute them, and then purchasing the stolen motorcycles from them to sell them in Brital to another person. He also added that he had transported dozens of stolen motorcycles from the suburbs to Brital and admitted to drug use.

The necessary legal actions were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on judicial orders, while efforts continue to arrest other accomplices."
