A German news report revealed today, Wednesday, the stance of Hans Flick, the new head coach of Barcelona, concerning signing Joshua Kimmich, the star of Bayern Munich. Kimmich's contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of next season, and there has been a strong desire from Barcelona since last season to acquire him.
According to the German newspaper "Bild," Flick wants to wait until Kimmich's contract with Bayern ends in the summer of 2025 to sign him for free. The newspaper added that Flick is aware of Barcelona's current poor financial situation, which makes major signings challenging.
It explained that if Bayern Munich is willing to sell Kimmich this summer, it would be difficult for Barcelona to secure his transfer. However, Flick, the former Bayern Munich coach, is confident in his ability to persuade Kimmich to remain with Bayern until the end of the next season and not renew his contract, eventually moving to Barcelona on a free transfer.
The report also indicated that if Kimmich stays with Bayern until his contract concludes, Barcelona would face challenges in signing him, given the significant interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
