The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory held a press conference today, Friday, at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City regarding the "Nablus Massacre," outlining the following points:
- We documented the intensive fire from "Israeli" tanks directed at gatherings of Palestinian civilians as they attempted to receive humanitarian aid.
- The gunfire from "Israeli" forces resulted in the martyrdom of 112 civilians and injured at least 760 others, with many victims believed to still be in the targeting area.
- It was found that the victims were shot with bullets, not due to being run over or trampled as claimed by the Israeli army spokesperson, who did not deny the shooting evidenced by video clips documenting the events.
- Four pieces of evidence confirm the army's involvement in the crime of killing and injuring starving civilians, including injury marks on the bodies of the martyrs and the injured, video clips published by eyewitnesses of the crime, the clear sound of gunfire, and its source from the "Israeli" tanks stationed toward the sea.
- It was confirmed that the clear sound of gunfire was from an automatic weapon using 5.56 mm bullets, which is used by the Israeli army and can be heard clearly in the published clips at the time of the shooting.
The head of the nursing department at Al-Shifa Hospital, Dr. Jadallah Al-Shafi, presented the following observations during the conference:
- Paramedics and rescue workers were among the victims of "Israeli" gunfire on civilians as they gathered at the Nablus roundabout to receive food supplies and assistance.
- We monitored dozens of martyrs and injuries upon their arrival at Al-Shifa Hospital, all sustained from "Israeli" gunfire, with all documentation proving this including X-ray images and medical reports, which are available to the media, human rights organizations, or investigative committees.
In a testimony from emergency specialist Dr. Amjad Aliwa during the conference, he stated:
- I was present with doctors and nurses alongside thousands of civilians at the Nablus roundabout awaiting the arrival of humanitarian supplies amid rampant starvation and lacking the most basic necessities of life.
- The Israeli army opened fire extensively on everyone present waiting to receive aid as the trucks arrived at 4 AM on Thursday.
- What occurred at the Nablus roundabout constitutes a horrific massacre, and some injured individuals could not be retrieved, and their fate remains unknown.
