Maritime navigation in one direction in the Dardanelles Strait in northwest Turkey has been suspended due to a forest fire, according to the Turkish Coast Guard. In a post on the "X" platform, the agency announced that "maritime navigation in the north-south direction has been temporarily suspended." A village in one of the provinces of Çanakkale has been evacuated due to the advance of the fire, as stated by the provincial authorities in a statement. Nine aircraft, six helicopters, and more than 360 firefighting personnel have been deployed to the area, as announced on "X" by Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli. The Dardanelles Strait, which forms the natural boundary between Europe and Asia, connects the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara.
