Palestinian resistance factions and Islamic forces successfully detained individuals involved in the assassination of Hamas leader Hadi Mustafa from the Rashidiya camp in Lebanon. Palestinian sources revealed that the cell, which includes three individuals—two of whom are teenagers—was apprehended while they were wandering in the Rashidiya camp under the pretext of selling paper towels, suggesting that a tracking device was placed in Mustafa's car.
The sources reported that a joint Palestinian effort among resistance factions led to the arrest of the cell, coordinated with the intelligence directorate, which has been monitoring them since the investigation into the assassination began. The Palestinian resistance factions and Islamic forces in Tyre confirmed the detention of those involved in the assassination of martyr "Abu Shadi," emphasizing that these individuals are "intruders in the Rashidiya camp." They reported that the suspects were handed over to the Lebanese authorities.
Palestinian sources indicated that the detained were exploiting minors for espionage purposes and planting tracking devices, as they had installed surveillance devices multiple times for leaders of the Palestinian resistance in Rashidiya camp. The sources noted that their arrest occurred while they were placing a tracking device for a member of the resistance, confirming that the Lebanese army intelligence arrested the operator of the minors from his home in Al-Ma'shuq.
The two minors confessed that their operator claimed to be a servant of one of the mosques, and he had given the minors one million Lebanese pounds for each task, according to the sources, which confirmed that these confessions were documented in sound and video and submitted to the intelligence services. The minors also admitted that Hadi Mustafa was always kind to them and frequently purchased paper towels from them.
The Lebanese army intelligence also arrested three individuals outside the camp, part of the network, including a key member who is Lebanese from Tripoli, as well as two Syrians who were detained in raids in Tyre and its surroundings. On March 13, Hamas and its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced the martyrdom of "Hadi Ali Mohamed Mustafa from the Rashidiya camp" in a statement. The martyr fell victim to an Israeli airstrike carried out by a drone targeting his vehicle in the city of Tyre, near the Al-Housh junction and at the entrance to the camp in the southern region of the country.
