According to the South Korean news agency "Yonhap," an official stated that South Korea will reconsider the possibility of supplying weapons to Ukraine after North Korea and Russia agreed to provide each other with urgent military assistance in the event of an attack.
In an official statement released today, Thursday, Seoul also condemned the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement signed by the leaders of North Korea and Russia this week, saying it violates United Nations sanctions. The presidential office stated: "The government clearly asserts that any cooperation that assists North Korea in increasing its military power, whether directly or indirectly, constitutes a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and is subject to monitoring and sanctions by the international community," adding that such a violation could lead to a deterioration of relations between Seoul and Moscow.
North Korea and Russia revived an agreement reached during the Cold War when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Pyongyang this week, agreeing to support each other militarily in the event of an attack.
