Flooding of Al-Shahrawi Shrine in Egypt

A sudden malfunction at the sewage station in the Daqados area, within the MIt Ghamr center of Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt, resulted in the flooding of the shrine of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shahrawi and the surrounding cemetery with sewage water. Visitors to the shrine were shocked to find large amounts of sewage water overflowing, reaching a height of over 5 cm, prompting citizens and workers at the shrine to start removing it. However, the water returned again, threatening to completely submerge the shrine. Anwar Osman, the head of the MIt Ghamr center, stated that the flooding was caused by a sudden malfunction in the sewage lifting pump, which led to the inundation of the cemetery. Osman confirmed that the malfunctioning pump has been replaced with a new one, and two additional backup pumps have been added to prevent a recurrence of the incident. Osman noted that the equipment and water suction vehicle are now working to pump out the water and restore the cemetery to its previous condition.
