Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp stated that it is currently impossible to compare any player to Norwegian star Erling Haaland, who leads the English Premier League scoring chart with 15 goals after only 9 matches for Manchester City. Klopp noted that his star player, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, is not enjoying happy times, emphasizing that "the Pharaoh," who has won the Premier League top scorer title three times, does not seem satisfied with his current achievement after only scoring two goals in 7 league matches.
According to statements reported by the "Mirror" newspaper, the German coach considered Haaland to be an exceptional player at the moment, adding, "It's crazy what he is doing; the way he nodded when he scored his second goal in the Champions League, as if to say (clearly, I can do what I want, the ball bounces in front of me)."
Klopp continued, "He is an exceptional player in an exceptional team... and I don’t think you can compare him to any other player."
Regarding Salah, Klopp said, "When his goal-scoring numbers aren't crazy, his goals are at least good, and you see how many times he participates in crucial passes. The problem is that if he doesn’t score, his other efforts on the pitch go unappreciated."
He added, "But I know his position, and everything is fine; Salah wants to score goals; he is extremely eager to do so. Ask him in 20 years, and he will tell you that he still has the same desire to find the net."
Klopp continued, "But he is regaining his form; in my view, for instance, he defended against Rangers in the Champions League at an unbelievably high level. I saw when he defended in the half-space and won the ball back."
He elaborated, "As a coach, it’s easy for me to see what Salah is doing because I watch the entire match, not just the standout moments."
He added, "This means I see those small details, so Salah is fine. We have just gotten used to having a specific image of him in our minds, but he is human, and we need to ensure the team performs at a level where every player can give their best."
