Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that NATO plans to establish three military bases to supply Ukraine with weapons. He stated, "NATO wants to assist Ukraine through what is called the Ukrainian NATO mission, which means that NATO will coordinate the transfer of weapons to Ukraine and will set up three large bases to supply Ukraine with arms." He expressed concern that if these bases are established in countries neighboring Ukraine, particularly Poland, Romania, and Slovakia, they would become military targets. He confirmed earlier that Hungary received assurances from NATO that all operations of the alliance outside its territory are voluntary for its members, reiterating that Hungary does not wish to participate in military operations of the alliance outside its territory, especially in Ukraine.
