Hamas leader Osama Hamdan affirmed that "the Palestinian people are marking the way to imminent salvation with their blood, patience, and steadfastness." He stated that the hunger war against the residents of Gaza has been issued by a clear decision from Netanyahu. Hamdan expressed his regret over the World Food Program's decision to suspend the distribution of food aid in the city of Gaza and northern Gaza Strip. He called on UNRWA not to yield to pressures.
He continued: "We renew our call to our nation that defending Al-Aqsa Mosque is defending the honor and dignity of the nation, and defending the Sacred House and the Noble Prophet's Mosque, as well as all holy sites and Arab and Islamic lands. Any hesitation in defending Al-Aqsa, or in paying the prices and sacrifices for that, will not be able or proactive in defending the dignity of Muslims, their lands, and their sacred sites."
He asserted that "Netanyahu's terrorist government, which sees prolonging the time of war as a fundamental goal to evade the consequences of the post-aggression phase, still adopts a stubborn stance on the just demands raised by Hamas and Palestinian resistance factions, foremost of which are stopping the aggression, returning the displaced, providing shelter, and lifting the siege to rebuild what was destroyed by the Zionist aggression."
He pointed out that the movement has dealt "positively with the proposals and initiatives of the mediators, and has operated from its clear priorities of stopping the aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip, and ending their humanitarian suffering, caused by the Zionist killing and destruction machine, the freedom of movement of our people, their return to their homes and areas in the northern Gaza Strip, in all its regions, and the urgent need for relief, shelter, and the start of reconstruction."
