Miqati from Dar al-Fatwa: The Sunni Community is Resilient Against Marginalization

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati affirmed that "the Sunni community is resilient against any marginalization and is greater than being reduced." He expressed a wish for "peace and security to prevail in Lebanon, and that Dar al-Fatwa is a place for all Lebanese, concerned with maintaining national unity, and we are here to serve the country."

Miqati was received by the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan, today at Dar al-Fatwa. After the visit, Prime Minister Miqati stated: "The visit today is on the occasion of the new hijri year, and we extended our congratulations to His Eminence. Our wishes, and his wishes, are those of every loyal Lebanese, whether on a personal level for peace of mind, health, and well-being, or regarding Lebanon and all Lebanese, which is that peace and security should prevail in the country. I found in His Eminence a constant concern for national unity and that this house is a gathering place for all Muslims and Lebanese. It is always concerned with preserving national unity and the stability and prosperity of Lebanon."

He added: "We talked about matters concerning the community, and we are reassured that this community is resilient to any marginalization and is greater than mere representation, and we serve the country and, God willing, we can always provide this service." Following this, Mufti Daryan received the Minister of Economy in the caretaker government, Amin Salam.
