Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has temporarily relieved Interior Minister Ibrahim Mourad of his duties until the end of the election campaign for the presidential elections scheduled for September 7. Tebboune has placed his Interior Minister on temporary leave from August 14 until September 4, which coincides with the campaign period for both Tebboune and two other candidates, Abdel Alai Hassani and Youssef Ouchich. This decision aims to ensure Mourad’s full attention to the election campaign, as Tebboune, running for a second term, appointed him just two days ago as the director of his campaign. Mourad will be responsible for coordinating various supportive forces, political parties, and civil society organizations to promote Tebboune’s campaign across the provinces of the country and through the media.
