In the backdrop of European warnings about escalating tensions on both sides of the Israeli-Lebanese border, as well as American warnings that "the situation at the border remains dangerous," and the emphasis on "working to contain it," the mutual escalation between Israel and Hezbollah continued amidst expectations of the diplomatic efforts aiming to succeed in the American ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel.
In the latest developments, the Israeli army announced that it bombed three military facilities belonging to Hezbollah in Adaisseh, Blida, and Markaba, as well as two launch platforms in the areas of Zibqin and Aita Ashab.
Israeli drones conducted nighttime attacks on the town of Naqoura, near the UNIFIL headquarters, in addition to bombings on the outskirts of the towns of Al-Jibi, Aita Ashab, and Ramiah in the central sector.
The Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, posted on his account on the platform "X" today, Wednesday: "In five different areas: the Defense Forces attacked Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon last night." He added, "During the hours of the last night, warplanes of the Air Force attacked two missile platforms belonging to Hezbollah in the areas of Zibqin and Aita Ashab."
He continued, "In addition, three military buildings of Hezbollah were targeted in Adaisseh, Blida, and Markaba."
The Israeli army continued to fire illumination flares over the southern villages and towns adjacent to the Blue Line until this morning, coinciding with reconnaissance flights over the villages in the western and central sectors, extending to the Litani River and the coastal area.
The Israeli military also launched incendiary bombs on the woods adjacent to the Blue Line to ignite the remaining ancient trees, especially in the forests of Naqoura and Alma Ashab.
