Real Madrid has started selling jerseys of its star players in preparation for the new season 2024-2025, having revealed the jersey numbers of its stars for the upcoming season. The club announced that its new French star Kylian Mbappé will wear the number 9 jersey after signing him this summer on a free transfer at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that Real Madrid’s sale of jerseys for the new season faced immediate issues due to the unexpected surge in demand from fans for Kylian Mbappé's jersey, with available stock selling out quickly.
The newspaper noted that a message appeared in the Real Madrid merchandise store indicating that the delivery of Mbappé's jersey would be delayed by an additional 4 to 6 weeks. It explained that jersey sales for the French star have exceeded what the Royal Club had planned for months, leaving them with no choice but to ask fans for patience while they work to resolve the shortage in stock before the player's presentation to the media and fans, just days away.
The "Santiago Bernabéu" stadium is expected to be full next Tuesday, July 16, marking a very special event for both Real Madrid fans and the player, and a perfect opportunity to reconcile with fans after years of negotiation challenges regarding his signing.
Real Madrid fans can also purchase new jerseys with updated numbers. Camavinga, who wore number 12, will now wear number 6. Valverde changed from number 15 to number 8, and Tchouaméni switched from number 18 to number 14. Arda Güler, who played with number 24 last season, will wear number 15, and Vallejo will wear number 18. The price of the jersey ranges between 120 and 180 euros.
