Saudi Arabia Calls on Pilgrims to Avoid Any Political Slogans

Saudi Arabia has called on more than 1.2 million pilgrims from various countries around the world to refrain from raising any political slogans during the Hajj season in the holy places. Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, stated in a press conference covering various preparations for the season, that "Hajj is for worship, not for political slogans, and the kingdom is keen on providing tranquility and reverence so that all pilgrims can perform their rituals comfortably." He added that "past seasons have witnessed a high level of compliance with the instructions, and the leadership of the kingdom is committed to ensuring that Hajj embodies the highest manifestations of reverence, tranquility, and spirituality."

Every year, prior to the actual start of the Hajj season, Saudi Arabia issues similar warnings after witnessing occurrences in previous seasons where pilgrims from certain countries raised political slogans before being restrained by Saudi security authorities. Every year, Saudi Arabia reminds the pilgrims of the Sacred House of Allah to focus on performing the rituals of Hajj, respect their brethren, and honor the sanctity and spirituality of the holy places by avoiding anything that disrupts the peace and serenity of Hajj, including any political or sectarian slogans. Preparations for the new Hajj season in Saudi Arabia begin immediately after the conclusion of the previous season, with many security and civil sectors working in harmony to implement pre-prepared plans that prioritize security, smooth transportation, and easy access to health services for more than two million pilgrims.
