Miguel Ángel González, the former goalkeeper for the Spain national team and Real Madrid, passed away today, Tuesday, at the age of 76. Miguel Ángel played for Real Madrid for 18 seasons from 1968 to 1986, winning two UEFA Cup titles, eight La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey titles, and one Copa de la Liga title. The late goalkeeper also participated in 18 matches for the Spain national team and appeared in the World Cups of 1978 and 1982. After retiring, Miguel Ángel held several positions at Real Madrid, including goalkeeper coach and director of the club's former sports city. He was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a form of motor neuron disease, in December 2022.
