The Story of the Dubious Security Force That Entered Gaza

A high-ranking source in the Gaza Ministry of Interior announced that "Major General Majed Faraj managed the operations of the force in a deceptive security manner, misleading the Palestinian factions and clans." He added that "the Egyptian side informed the crossing authority that it was unaware of the security force that received the Egyptian trucks and disclaimed responsibility for it." The Palestinian police in Rafah arrested six leaders of this dubious force and are working to apprehend all its members. The Ministry of Interior has received directives from the Joint Operations Room of the resistance factions that "any security force that does not enter Gaza through its resistance, which defends the nation and has paid a high price, should be treated as an occupation force."

The Israeli state's official broadcasting agency (Kan) reported that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant proposed appointing the head of the Palestinian Authority's intelligence, Majed Faraj, to temporarily manage the Gaza Strip after the war. The agency stated that Israel is considering using the Palestinian intelligence chief to build an alternative to Hamas's rule the day after the war. The proposal states that Majed Faraj would manage Gaza with the assistance of figures not affiliated with Hamas.

Informed sources indicated that Faraj was not the only name being considered by Israel for the role of managing Gaza post-war. According to Israeli press reports, Majed Faraj (61 years old) is the most powerful and significant security figure in the Palestinian Authority, considered close to President Abbas, and has ties with senior Israeli security officials.

The internal front in the Gaza Strip announced in a statement: "In an operation that took place last night, several officers and soldiers belonging to the General Intelligence service in Ramallah infiltrated northern Gaza, on an official mission under direct orders from Majed Faraj, with the aim of creating confusion and chaos within the internal front, secured by the Israeli Shin Bet and enemy army, following an agreement between the two parties in a meeting last week in one of the Arab capitals." The statement added: "Accordingly, the security forces in Gaza dealt with these elements, arresting 10 of them and thwarting the plan for which they came. There will be a strong response against anyone who dares to play in a square that serves only the occupation."
