King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session After Recovery from Health Setback

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz headed a Cabinet session via video conference on Tuesday after recovering from a health setback. He expressed gratitude to the citizens of the Kingdom for their kind sentiments and prayers, and appreciated the messages of well-wishing for his health from leaders of brotherly and friendly nations. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is the Prime Minister, along with the council members, praised God for the recovery of King Salman and prayed for his continued health and wellness to lead the nation’s growth and prosperity in all areas, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the message King Salman received from the President of Senegal and on the phone calls made between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the President of France and the Prime Minister of Japan.

The Council reviewed updates on collaboration with multilateral organizations, highlighting Saudi Arabia's unanimous election to the International Transport Forum and the organization of the UNCTAD Global Supply Chains Forum for 2026, which confirm its global leadership and recognition of its ambitious initiatives and future projects in these vital sectors.

The Cabinet praised the success of the 2024 Future of Aviation Conference held in Riyadh, which saw extensive participation from various countries and the signing of over 100 agreements and memoranda of understanding, along with announcements of investments worth tens of billions expected to significantly enhance the sector's growth and strengthen the Kingdom’s position in air transportation both regionally and internationally.

Furthermore, the Cabinet noted the Kingdom's new global records in reducing the cost of electricity production from wind energy, supporting its efforts to diversify energy sources and enhance its global standing as an exporter of renewable and sustainable energy. It also recognized the increase in clean energy use and the reduction of carbon emissions while preserving the environment, in accordance with its local and international initiatives' targets.
