Xavi Hernandez, the coach of Barcelona, has responded to the request from club president Joan Laporta to stay with the team after the current season ends. Xavi had previously announced his departure from Barça at the end of the season, but Laporta made a friendly appeal for him to remain for the next season.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," Xavi's decision to leave is definitive and non-negotiable, and he is resisting attempts from Laporta and his deputy Rafa Yuste to persuade him to stay. The newspaper highlighted that Xavi is 100% committed to his decision, and there are no circumstances that would make him reconsider, especially after months of contemplation with those close to him.
It was noted that Xavi spent months deliberating and studying the situation before concluding that he should leave the bench at Barcelona by next summer. The newspaper revealed a surprise, stating that after announcing his decision to part ways with Barcelona, Xavi received five offers from clubs considered among the top 20 in Europe.
Xavi insists that he will not work next season and will take a break unless he receives an offer that is impossible to refuse from a sports, economic, and personal standpoint.
