The National Center for Geophysics, affiliated with the National Council for Scientific Research, reported that an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at 1:15 PM local time on Friday. Its epicenter was determined to be in the Hama region of Syria, and many citizens felt it. An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck the Jordan-Syria border area, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), adding that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The Jordanian Seismological Observatory stated to "Al Arabiya" that a quake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was detected at 1:15 PM on Friday, southeast of Hama in Syria. Residents from the coastal city of Tartus, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, also reported feeling the earthquake. Additionally, residents in Hatay and Gaziantep felt the tremor, according to Turkish media.
