Hamad International Airport has achieved record performance during the first quarter of 2024, surpassing all figures recorded in 2023, thereby reinforcing its leading position as a pivotal airport in the global aviation sector. The airport witnessed a notable increase in passenger traffic during this quarter, with a rise of 27.6%. Additionally, it recorded growth in flight operations and air cargo, with rates of 23.9% and 15.4% respectively.
In line with its steadfast commitment to enhance its leading position as a premier airport in the global aviation sector and as the preferred choice for travelers, Hamad International Airport offers services to 188 travel and cargo destinations, supported by a network of 48 global airlines, 44 of which operated at the airport during the first quarter, with four new airlines joining this network in the current quarter.
As part of its diligent efforts to enhance the travel experience and its ongoing commitment to operational excellence, Hamad International Airport provided dedicated screening lanes for families traveling with small children during the first quarter, aimed at reducing wait times at security checkpoints. This group of travelers receives assistance and guidance from specialized airport staff.
The airport has also received ISO 45001:2018 certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the British Standards Institute, recognizing its commitment to the best standards regarding risk management and controls in this area.
