The Lebanese-Palestinian political meeting held its regular session chaired by the Secretary-General of the Popular Nasserist Organization, MP Osama Saad, at the organization's headquarters in Sidon. The attendees commended in a subsequent statement the "heroic sacrifices made by the Palestinian people inside Palestine," reiterating their "support for the Palestinian uprising in the West Bank as it confronts repeated Israeli assaults."
The meeting referenced a gathering at the Palestinian embassy attended by all factions of the Palestinian revolution, led by Palestinian Ambassador Ashraf Dabbour, following the assassination of Palestinian National Security leader Abu Ashraf al-Armooshi. The meeting included representatives from the Lebanese government, the Lebanese Army Command, the Amal Movement, and the Popular Nasserist Organization. It stressed the "necessity to pursue those involved in the assassination and bring them to justice within a period not exceeding five days after which efforts to hand over the wanted individuals fail."
The statement highlighted that the "Palestinian Joint Action Committee held its meeting yesterday at the Palestinian embassy, agreeing to enhance the joint security force within the Ain al-Hilweh camp to fulfill its role in protecting the camp and pursuing the perpetrators of the cowardly act that led to the assassination of the National Security leader." The attendees underscored the importance of adhering to the joint decisions issued during the Lebanese-Palestinian meetings regarding the urgent compensation for those affected, both Lebanese and Palestinians.
The meeting requested the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Committee, Major General Mohamed Khair, to follow up on this case due to its humanitarian significance, urging immediate action to secure housing for families whose homes are uninhabitable and to commence compensation payments for the affected individuals.
The statement affirmed "the importance of UNRWA's role within the camp and its commitment to commencing the school year without any obstacles," also relying on the strengthening of the Palestinian joint force to protect schools from any attacks.
