Secretary General of "The True Promise" Brigade: The Resistance's Decision is Independent

The Secretary General of the "True Promise" Brigade in Iraq, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Tamimi, confirmed that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq is facing pressures from the Al-Sudani government and some Shiite political blocs to cease operations against the Zionist entity "Israel". In an interview with "Sputnik," he stated: "The position of the Islamic Resistance has become clear regarding targeting the Zionist entity. As for the American bases in Iraq, there is a truce connected to the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, to Washington to end the American presence in Iraq."

Al-Tamimi emphasized that "the Resistance issued a warning yesterday, Wednesday, to all countries with American bases, to prevent those bases from being used to target the Resistance. If those bases are used in military operations against the Resistance forces and the Palestinian people, the state from which the attack originated will be considered a legitimate target for us, and this includes Arab and non-Arab countries."

He pointed out that "the Islamic Resistance is now nearing a strike in the heart of the Zionist entity in Tel Aviv, Dimona reactor, and the oil and gas fields. The gas and oil pipelines from Turkey or Azerbaijan are not far from us, and the days are between us." He added that "anyone who supports the Zionist entity is complicit in the genocide and crimes against innocents in Gaza, and matters have become clear to everyone."

The Secretary General of the True Promise Brigade denied that the Resistance's decision is dictated from abroad, asserting that "the Resistance has its independent decision apart from regional and international agreements and understandings, because the religious mandate of the Resistance directs it to stand with the Palestinian people against oppression. As an Iraqi Resistance, we operate based on our religious obligation, not under orders from states, and we are currently working to support neighboring countries in lifting the siege on the Palestinian people."

Al-Tamimi concluded by stating that there are no external interventions in the decision of the Resistance, and that the Resistance's decision is independent from the religious authority (the religious reference), and that the religious duty obliges them to stand with oppressed and marginalized peoples. The Iranian-aligned factions periodically carry out attacks on American bases in Syria and Iraq in response to military operations by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, declaring their support for the "Palestinian Resistance."
