The film "The Pit," directed by Angela Wamai from Kenya, won the award for Best Feature Film at the 23rd edition of the International African Cinema Festival in Khouribga, which concluded in Morocco.

The jury awarded its special prize to the Moroccan film "The Oasis of Frozen Waters," directed by Raouf Sabahi, while Egyptian filmmaker Ahmed Abdallah El Sayed received the Best Direction award for the film (19 B).

Cameroonian artist Nemo Laughlin won the Best Actress award for her role in the film "Farmers' Plant," and Egyptian artist Sayed Ragab received the Best Actor award for his role in (19 B). The jury also awarded Tunisian actress Fatma Nasr for her role in the Moroccan film "Jalal al-Din."

The African Cinema Critics' Committee awarded the Critique Prize to the Moroccan film "The Oasis of Frozen Waters." In the short film competition, the Grand Prize went to the film "Ziwan," directed by Samuel Tipandike from Uganda, while the Jury Prize went to the film "Dear Ward," directed by Marwa El Sharkawi from Egypt.

The jury commended the films "Kibo" by director Abdullah Sowi from Senegal and "Fabula" by director Jared Elias from Tunisia. The festival, which started on May 6, showcased 27 films within its official competitions, in addition to several films as part of parallel programs and activities.
