The commander of the Northern Command in the Israeli army, Major General Uri Gordine, warned that when a decision is made to launch an attack on Lebanon, it will be a "decisive and resolute attack." Gordine stated during his visit to the Golani Brigade combat team: "We are committed to changing the security reality here in the north. The residents of Metulla and all the northern residents will be able to return to their homes. The battalion and the brigade are doing an excellent job in completing defensive operations." He added, "There are many offensive activities. We have already eliminated over 500 in Lebanon, the vast majority of whom are from Hezbollah, and we have destroyed thousands of infrastructures." He confirmed that "when the time comes and we begin the attack, it will be decisive and resolute," noting that "the reality we are creating now by targeting the other side enables us to carry out this attack in a highly qualitative manner."
