Title: Karamé: Lebanese People Are Self-Sabotaging by Foiling Presidential Election Attempts

The head of the "Karamé Movement," MP Faisal Karamé, stated that "the Lebanese are self-sabotaging through stubbornness and arrogance by foiling every attempt to elect a President of the Republic, continuing in this terrifying vacuum while people are starving and migrating, and the fragile social stability is on the verge of explosion that could devastate everything."

Karamé added, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the martyrdom of President Rashid Karamé: "The Lebanese are the ones who are surrounding themselves when the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, becomes a local and international red line, while a man in this dangerous position is facing accusations in Lebanese, French, and German courts," emphasizing that "it is one of the simplest fundamentals that he should cease his work and powers pending the issuance of judicial rulings."

He asserted that "if the Lebanese want to keep Lebanon as envisioned by France, as declared by General Gouraud in 1920, they must stop the nonsense, bravado, and deadly bets, and immediately engage in an inclusive national dialogue that produces swift understandings leading us to elect a new president and to restructure state institutions." He called for "working day and night to achieve radical reforms that are the essence of the economic, financial, and social recovery plan."

In remembrance of President Rashid Karamé, he said: "Day by day, and year by year, the Lebanese rediscover Rashid Karamé through his stances, words, and visionary approach to the fate of this small nation, Lebanon, and the major challenges the Arab nation will face in confronting (Zionist occupation) as well as the conspiracies targeting the unity and stability of Arab countries."

On this anniversary, he pointed out that "one of the promising signs, O Rashid, is that the so-called Israeli state has lost its most important function thanks to the steadfastness of the people and the victories of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine. Yes, Israel has lost the function for which it was created, namely the military function, and we are seeing it build walls of racial segregation, besiege itself, and struggle through various crises."
