The United States warned Lebanon that it would support any Israeli attack against it if "Hezbollah does not stop its daily attacks on northern Israel." These warnings came during the visit of U.S. Special Envoy Amos Hochstein to Beirut on Tuesday, according to a report by Israel's Kan public broadcaster. Hochstein emphasized that ending the conflict between the Iranian-backed "Hezbollah" and Israel diplomatically and swiftly is "urgent." The U.S. envoy told Lebanese officials that "if Hezbollah does not stop its daily attacks on northern Israel, it may find itself targeted by a limited Israeli operation." According to the report, Hochstein clarified that "there is a need for a diplomatic solution to force Hezbollah to retreat from the Israeli-Lebanese border, otherwise Israel could launch a limited attack with U.S. support." Biden's aide is in the region in an effort to prevent escalating tensions between Israel and "Hezbollah."
