Interior and Municipalities Minister Bassam Mawlawi affirmed that "investing in security is the entry point for all economic, financial, and developmental stability." Mawlawi responded to the invitation of the Chargé d'Affaires at the Lebanese Embassy in Paris, Ziad Taan, to the embassy building, where he met several members of the Lebanese community, along with a number of newspaper office directors and their representatives in Paris. In his speech, Mawlawi praised the "diversity seen in the presence representing all Lebanese components," considering that "national unity is the foundation in addressing any issue." He emphasized "the importance of strengthening ties around the issues that unite the Lebanese, which form the main entry point in addressing contentious topics and finding solutions to them," stressing that "the unity of the Lebanese stance was evident in coming together and agreeing on addressing the Syrian displacement file."
Mawlawi also discussed the situation in Lebanon, particularly in the south, and the urgent need to strive to avoid the expansion of war, stating: "What is happening in the south pains every Lebanese and every conscientious person in the world." Regarding security conditions in Lebanon on the eve of the summer season, Mawlawi expressed his desire to invite all Lebanese expatriates to spend their summer holidays in Lebanon.
