Ukrainian Donetsk region governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported today, Saturday, that "Russian shelling resulted in the deaths of at least 8 civilians and injured 13 others in the city of Lyman in the region." The attack occurred around 10 a.m. when Russians shelled residential areas of Lyman in Donetsk with multiple rocket launchers. At least 6 civilians were killed, and 5 are currently known to be injured. Rescue operations are ongoing. Kyrylenko noted that the shelling targeted a residential area in the small city and that a house and a store were damaged, with police also active on-site. Lyman is a railway hub in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported in their evening update that Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to advance in the Lyman sector, with at least 10 towns and villages being shelled.
