Why Are Photos of the New British Prime Minister Without His Teen Sons?

If you search for a family photo of the leader of the British Labour Party, Mr. Keir Starmer, who is set to become the new Prime Minister, you will find numerous pictures of him, but only with his wife, Victoria, who is also 61. Finding a picture of his teenage sons, or even their names, is quite difficult, as Starmer is obsessed with protecting them. Last Wednesday, on the eve of the elections that took place yesterday, he emphasized in an interview with the British newspaper "The Telegraph" that he will continue to "tightly protect" his sons, whose names he does not mention and whose photos he refuses to publish, stating that their transition to living with him and their mother at "10 Downing Street," the government residence after its formation, "will not be easy for them."

He also mentioned in the interview that he does this to protect them from political conflict, stating, "Going through significant changes during adolescence is not easy," referring to his 16-year-old son and his younger sister, who is three years his junior. Starmer, a former lawyer and human rights activist before serving as Attorney General, known for his friendship with British-Lebanese lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of American actor George Clooney, also expressed last week to reporters in Wales that he is worried about his sons, as both are at an age where changes can have an impact, saying, "That's why I have been protecting them fiercely for several years, and I will continue to try to do so. This is just a very personal matter that I owe to them."

He also stated a month ago in an interview with the program "This Morning" on ITV that he and his Jewish wife Victoria "will strongly protect" the privacy of their teenage sons, acknowledging that they feel anxious about the potential impact of moving to the government residence adjacent to Parliament. He said of his sons, "They are feeling anxious, and I think any father would understand that. If you are a teenager, you do not want things to change." He confirmed that the family would live together at "Downing Street" if he became Prime Minister, and that his sons are intensifying their campaign "to get a family dog to compensate for the changes that may occur in their lives."
