Title: The Dollar Rocket Soars in Lebanon, Approaching 100,000

After a long period of stability, the dollar shocked the Lebanese people by suddenly jumping to rates between 95,200 and 94,800 Lebanese Lira for one dollar. With this increase, Lebanese people returned to using terms like "soaring," "rocket," and "hysteria," and the demand for dollar price applications on phones rose, as everyone became an expert in currency exchange and its fluctuations. The dollar was recorded in the black market at 97,500 Lira for selling and 98,500 Lira for buying. Later, it dropped to around 93,000 Lira.

It is noteworthy that deputies of the Central Bank of Lebanon are expected to resign next Monday, according to circulating information on this subject. Several currency exchangers explained that "instructions have been sent to them to intensify the campaign to buy the dollar from the market for the benefit of certain entities, including banks."

As news of the dollar's rise spread, traffic returned to fuel stations, leading to long car queues, with reports of some stations closing their doors until the situation with the dollar clarifies. In this context, the media management of "Bank of Beirut" issued the following statement:

"One of the social media platforms is circulating information about 'Bank of Beirut' intervening in the market to purchase U.S. dollars, causing a commotion that has since calmed down. 'Bank of Beirut' wants to assert that what occurred does not align with the content being discussed. Some payments to contractors have been released by the concerned authority, and we indeed settled these amounts with them in the national currency, prompting some of them to swiftly buy U.S. dollars with it, which caused confusion among activists. To clarify matters and present the truth, this explanation was provided."
