On Thursday, the Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Youssef Khalil, issued three decisions regarding the extension of deadlines. The first decision states: "The deadline for submitting the annual declaration for income tax on salaries and wages (R5) and the annual individual statements (R6) and the total annual statement (R7) for the fiscal year 2022 is extended for the last time until August 16, 2024, inclusive, along with the payment of the tax if applicable." The second decision states: "The deadline for submitting the annual declaration for income tax on salaries and wages (R5) and the annual individual statements (R6) and the total annual statement (R7) for the fiscal year 2023 is extended until August 30, 2024, inclusive, along with the payment of the tax if applicable." The third decision states: "The deadline for submitting the personal declaration for property tax due on real estate or part of the property that has revenues exceeding 40 million Lebanese pounds for the revenues of the year 2023 is extended until August 30, 2024, inclusive, along with the payment of the tax resulting from the declaration." These three decisions aim to provide an opportunity for taxpayers to comply with these obligations and avoid penalties.
