Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stated, "We have not and will not stand with any side in the Ukraine war to prolong it," emphasizing that Iran does not see the war in Ukraine as a solution and that both parties should work towards a political resolution. During a joint press conference held with the South African Foreign Minister in Pretoria on Thursday, Abdullahian referred to unfounded accusations regarding the use of Iranian drones in the war against Ukraine as completely false. He mentioned, "We have asked the Ukrainian side to provide their valid documents in this regard."
Regarding the nuclear agreement, Amir-Abdollahian declared: "Concerning the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, if the other parties have the necessary will to return to their commitments, Iran remains the most committed and stable party in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to fulfill its obligations. We have never deviated from the path of diplomacy and dialogue." About the current meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee between Iran and South Africa, joint delegations from ministries, organizations, and institutions from both the public and private sectors in the two countries engaged in important and fruitful discussions over two days. Abdullahian viewed these talks as part of new agreements and a roadmap for cooperation between the two countries.
