Ukrainian officials announced that a woman was killed early Monday morning when Russian forces shelled the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine, while two other individuals were killed in Russian shelling in border areas of the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine.
The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, stated, "It was a difficult night for Kherson. The Russian army continued to shell homes in the central part of the city," noting that "the bombardment began around midnight and lasted for several hours."
In a separate context, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, reported that two civilians were killed and three others injured during Russian shelling of border areas in Kharkiv region on Monday morning. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russia carried out 52 airstrikes and 75 missile attacks in the last 24 hours.
Maps from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation indicated air raid sirens sounding in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, according to the "Novosti" agency. The map data showed alarms were activated in the four regions at 1:57 PM Moscow time, alongside the area controlled by the Kyiv regime in the Zaporizhia region.
On another note, the governor of the Kaluga region in Russia, Vladislav Shapsha, announced on Monday that the Russian air defense system had destroyed a drone over Verznikovsky in the region. Shapsha mentioned that the incident had no impact on individuals or infrastructure.
