Title: Family Killer in Egypt Confesses: I Put Some of Their Remains in the Fridge and Fed the Rest to the Dogs

Investigative authorities in the governorate of Gharbia, Egypt, listened to the statements of Mohamed El-Sharkawy, the killer of his family whom he slaughtered. The accused stated that he killed his mother, sister, and younger brother by slaughter, burned their bodies, and cut them up to feed to the dogs, adding that he did not intend to kill them in this manner. He continued that he committed the crime at five in the morning, where he took a knife and began killing his brother, then his mother, and after that, his sister, clarifying that he is not mentally ill and does not suffer from any mental disorders.

The accused revealed that he used 20 knives to cut up the bodies of his mother and siblings, adding that he placed some of the victims' remains in the fridge at home and threw another part to the dogs. In turn, Mohamed Sayed Hamad, the defense lawyer for the accused, stated to "Al-Arabiya.net" that the statements of the accused in the investigations indicate that he suffers from mental disturbances despite his confession of not suffering from that. He added that no normal person would commit such an act and proceed to cut up the bodies while in full mental capacity. He further stated that he requested the investigative authorities to refer the accused to a psychiatric hospital to assess his mental state.

Egyptian authorities received a report about a horrific massacre, where a young man ended the lives of his mother, sister, and younger brother by slaughter, then poured a flammable substance on them. Residents of the Rostom hamlet noticed a foul smell coming from one of the houses in the hamlet, and the homeowners had been absent since last Thursday, so they reported to the authorities, who raided the house and discovered three bodies.
