The Secretary-General of "Hezbollah," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned at the beginning of a speech delivered on the seventeenth anniversary of the July war, which ended on August 14, 2006, about the return of "ISIS" to the arenas, whether in Pakistan, the Syrian Badia, or Shiraz, expressing concern that "it seems there is a decision for the return of this organization."
Regarding maritime borders, Nasrallah noted that the demarcation of maritime borders and the initiation of exploration would not have been achieved without building on the results of the "July war." He stated, "Over the past months, the relevant parliamentary committees reached a proposal for a law concerning the sovereign fund, which is on the agenda for the parliamentary session on Thursday. We hope that the honorable MPs approach the subject of the sovereign fund with a national and sovereign perspective, considering it an urgent need for Lebanon, so that oil wealth belongs to all Lebanese and benefits future generations."
He continued: "The real guarantee for preserving Lebanon's rights and oil wealth is for Lebanon to retain all elements of strength, primarily resistance. What prevents the enemy from encroaching on Lebanon’s rights to its natural resources is Lebanon's strength, and their understanding that any attempt will be met with a strong reaction that will make them regret."
Regarding the Israeli internal front, he said, "Israel's internal front situation before 2006 was often insulated from all wars, but the resistance in 2006 made it part of the war. After 2006, the Israelis added a fourth element to their security doctrine represented by defense and protection. The enemy was forced to search for missile interception systems and made great efforts and spent massively. Since 2006, the enemy has been conducting drills for the internal front to verify its readiness, and all reports indicate that it is not."
He questioned, "Have they managed to restore the strength of the Israeli army after 17 years of restoration and drills? Definitely not, as many retired and active enemy generals and ministers talk about the difficult situation the 'Israeli' army has reached."
Nasrallah threatened Israel: "If you take them to war with Lebanon, you too will return to the Stone Age," listing potential targeting locations. He added, "The enemy's leaders must know that here, in this field and arena, they play a game of existence and annihilation, not a game of points."
Regarding the recent incident at the Kahlah curve, he stated, "The recent incident at the Kahlah curve is a natural occurrence; trucks pass there, and accidents happen, just like in any place where accidents occur. The truck remained for three hours where the driver was assisted and transported to the hospital until one local station announced that the truck belonged to 'Hezbollah.' He noted that the young man who died from the party was the one who assisted the driver and took him to the hospital and called for the crane, being present on-site to manage the situation."
He added, "Only the investigation will prove who attacked whom; we acted based on controlling the situation." He further remarked, "Naturally, there are weapons deliveries through various means, including civilian ones, in preparation for any potential confrontation in the future."
He confirmed: "The people of Kahlah are our people," comparing, "The number of those present at the site of the incident is known, and some came from outside Kahlah and are known; the problem lies with them, not with the people of Kahlah. Responsible positions, especially in the Christian community, have called for calm, including a stance from the president."
Nasrallah held the media institution that revealed the identity of the truck responsible for taking the country towards dire consequences if not for the responsible Christian voices that called for de-escalation, urging, "Let’s address the Kahlah incident in the best manner." He continued, "The incident reaffirmed that the military institution is the guarantor of security and stability in this country, even if some want to use the military for their own ends."
He questioned, "Is it in the interest of the Lebanese people, or specifically the Christians, to head towards civil war? The structure will collapse on everyone; even the strong will be lost in this war, and no one in the world will intervene to rescue us. Everyone is watching what is happening in wars such as in Sudan and elsewhere. If war occurs, on the contrary, countries will pour oil on the fire."
He remarked, "Who do you bet on in war? Israel? We had stated that it is weaker than ever."
He added, "There are political leaders, regardless of their backgrounds, who encourage the country towards explosion and civil war." He stated, "The stage necessitates calm instead of following instincts. Division will not happen."
Regarding the National Movement, he saw that the recent path with the National Movement is serious and positive but requires some time. He said, "As a matter of course, since announcing our communication with the movement, a political front has opened fire on us because they want to entrench and mobilize." He continued, "There is no leading sect in Lebanon because this country is based on partnership."
