Information on the Kidnapping of 110 Migrants by Libyan Pirates

In a troubling incident, a boat carrying approximately 110 migrants from Lebanon and Syria, which had set sail from the Al-Abda - Akkar area a week ago towards the Italian coasts, is reported to have been kidnapped by Libyan pirates. "Al-Arabiya" conducted interviews with the families of the missing, who appealed for Lebanese authorities to take action to determine the fate of the boat. A girl recounted that when the army raided the boat, which had sped off with those onboard, her mother and half of her siblings were taken, while she and her infant brother were left on land, resulting in a tragic family separation reminiscent of sad maritime stories. A man named Mamdouh stated that his granddaughter, whom he has been raising after her parents' divorce, was on the boat alone. The news of the kidnapping was confirmed after audio messages warned families against expressing any opinion regarding the kidnapped boat. They later learned that the vessel was in the hands of pirates from Libya, specifically with the "Frog Brigade." It is noted that each person on board had paid $7,000 to embark on an illegal journey.
