The Israeli army revealed footage it claims shows a mother and her two children from the Bibas family who were abducted by Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7. The footage reportedly documented the first moments after their kidnapping, specifically upon their arrival in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The video featured Shiri Bibas and her children Ariel and Kfir, who were 4 years old and 9 months old, respectively, at the time of their abduction. The Israeli army stated: "We will not rest nor hesitate until we bring them home."
It is noteworthy that Hamas, which is listed on U.S. terrorism watch lists, announced in November that the mother and her children were killed in an Israeli airstrike; however, the army confirmed that these claims have not been verified. At that time, Hamas released footage of the father pleading from another location for the return of his family’s bodies to Israel.

Israeli army spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, stated in a press conference on Monday: "It becomes clear from the documentation and the intelligence we have gathered that Shiri was abducted with Ariel and Kfir around 10 a.m. by terrorists, who transferred them in a vehicle and then to another truck." He pointed out that "they were taken to the eastern part of Khan Younis to a site belonging to a terrorist organization called the (Al-Qassam Brigades)."
Hagari noted that "the footage shows Shiri and the children arriving with around seven terrorists, alongside the eight terrorists who were already present at the site." He explained that "the video documents the first moments after the kidnapping," adding: "Shiri and the children, covered in loose fabric, were walking in the area surrounded by armed men. After a while, they were put into another vehicle and taken to another location." He mentioned that the husband, Yarden, was also kidnapped and held separately from his family by Hamas.
The Bibas family is among the most prominent hostages held by Hamas during the surprise attack launched against Israel on October 7, due to the age of the infant Kfir, alongside the circulation of a video of the mother during her abduction holding her children in the town of Nir Oz.
