The Yemeni Armed Forces' air force has entered the battlefield for the first time, targeting Houthi militia in the western frontlines of Taiz, southwest Yemen.
On Friday evening, the Yemeni army announced that its air force had conducted more than 15 airstrikes targeting Houthi positions, gatherings, and equipment in the western coastal fronts of Taiz and Hudaydah provinces.
The Yemeni Armed Forces Media Center published a statement on its 'X' platform account, stating, "Our armed forces' air force targeted more than 15 Houthi terrorist militia sites, gatherings, and vehicles in the western coastal fronts of Taiz and Hudaydah provinces."
Earlier, a military source confirmed to 'Al-Arabiya' and 'Al-Hadath' channels on Friday evening that the Yemeni army continues to launch airstrikes on Houthi positions in Taiz and Hudaydah.
Additionally, the Taiz Military Axis announced in a brief statement on Friday evening the air force's entry into the battle, providing aerial support to ground forces and bombing Houthi militia sites for the first time in the Hays front, west of the governorate.
Field sources reported that the government forces' air force is currently flying over the Al-Barh and Hays fronts, indicating that the government's combat aircraft bombed mobile and fixed Houthi targets for the first time across multiple areas along the confrontation lines from Hays in Hudaydah to Al-Kadha in Al-Ma'afer, Taiz.
This development coincides with the arrival of significant military reinforcements for government forces from the 'Amaliqa Brigades' and 'Shield of the Nation' brigades, surrounding confrontation areas to support military forces in Hudaydah and Taiz.
Earlier today, the Yemeni Armed Forces reclaimed the Al-Khuzaan hill in the Jabal Habashi district, west Taiz, amid fierce clashes with the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, coinciding with intensified fighting in the Maqabana and Al-Kadha fronts.
A military source indicated that the armed forces continue to engage in fierce battles with the Houthi militias in these fronts, amid the arrival of military reinforcements for the armed forces as part of operations to counteract militia attacks and movements in the western governorate fronts.
