Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with the new European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra Duval, in the presence of the diplomatic advisor to Prime Minister Mikati, Ambassador Boutros Asaker. Following the meeting, Ambassador Duval stated: "I just arrived in Lebanon and I am making courtesy visits to its officials. During our visit today, we discussed Prime Minister Mikati's vision for the future political situation in Lebanon. We hope, along with the Prime Minister, to witness the election of a president for the republic soon, as well as the adoption of reform laws in Lebanon, which the European Union will be very pleased to support and help implement."
Mikati also received British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Kearns, where they discussed general conditions and bilateral relations between the two countries, cooperation regarding the Lebanese Army, and support for the education sector in Lebanon.
Additionally, Mikati welcomed the new Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Thani, alongside Minister Plenipotentiary Ali bin Mohammed Al-Matawa. Ambassador Boutros Asaker also participated in this meeting.
Moreover, Prime Minister Mikati met with Justice Minister Henry Khoury, discussing matters related to the ministry.
Finally, Mikati received representatives from the region, MPs Mohammad Sleiman and Mohammad Yahya, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Committee, Major General Mohammad Khair, where they addressed the living conditions in the Akkar area.
