Efforts have been tirelessly made to establish a nuclear power plant in the Dabaa area using the latest operational and safety systems in the world, leveraging Russian expertise. Consequently, hopes are high regarding this event, which aims to meet Egypt's electrical energy needs in hopes of bridging the growing gap between supply and demand, as the demand for energy continues to increase.
Developed countries, including our new republic, often adopt strategic plans that do not aim to solve problems temporarily but rather strive to meet current and future needs alike. Traditional energy production sources are no longer sufficient to support an ever-growing population and advanced industries, which require logistical support to achieve the desired goals. Electricity in Egypt has largely been supplied using natural gas, with a limited contribution from hydroelectric power.
The state has unique components to secure nuclear energy, including infrastructure and a trained human resource base in nuclear technology, along with experts from Russia who contribute to realizing the Egyptian dream according to a strategic plan supported by the Egyptian state, which is also of interest to both Egyptian and Russian political leadership. This is not only to address energy shortages but also to advance various economic developments, especially industrial development and investment in exporting surplus.
A significant advantage of the electricity generated from the Dabaa nuclear plant, Egypt's national project, is the stability of prices compared to fluctuating fuel costs, whether oil, gas, or coal. It is well-known that the cost of uranium as a primary nuclear fuel is relatively low compared to the overall cost of energy production in nuclear power plants.
We must fully recognize that nuclear energy has become safe and is one of the sustainable sources that foster comprehensive development across its various fields, thereby increasing job opportunities in numerous areas and positively affecting climate changes. Nuclear energy significantly helps in reducing carbon compounds caused by other energy sources, especially fossil fuels, and the safety measures for nuclear power plants have reached high standards.
The benefits of nuclear energy in our beloved country include contributing to diversifying energy sources and ensuring their sustainability, increasing the strategic reserves of oil and natural gas, while also utilizing Egypt's uranium stocks and investing in skilled Egyptian expertise in this field, which is now seen as a source of great promise for the future generations as it represents an important renewable energy source.
In the midst of its ambitious strategic vision, the Egyptian state follows a proactive approach to address the issues it has faced over many years, consistently striving to adopt advanced global experiences that have proven successful through practice. The leadership carefully oversees and closely monitors the diversification of renewable energy sources throughout the vast homeland. There has been clear interest in the partnership with the Russian state in launching the Dabaa project, which combines efficiency and safety at the same time.
One of the signs of realizing the Egyptian dream of securing nuclear energy is that the state has a clear energy strategy based on principles that align with the development of renewable energy sources across various developmental sectors.
