The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Ahmed Fahmy, stated that "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met today, Sunday, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi, and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries, as well as regional and global issues." They also expressed their commitment to enhancing regional cooperation as a steadfast strategic approach, within a framework of mutual respect, common interest, and sincere intentions, contributing to the preservation of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The spokesperson clarified that the meeting "addressed the exchange of views regarding developments in regional situations of common interest, as well as ways to intensify consultation and coordination between the two countries to enhance all aspects of bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and peoples."
Erdoğan Meets with bin Salman in New Delhi
On the sidelines of the 18th G20 Leaders' Summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The meeting took place at the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition and Convention Centre hosting the summit. Erdoğan and bin Salman discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, as well as regional and international issues. Attending the meeting from the Turkish side were Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Chief of Intelligence Ibrahim Kalin, Director of Communications at the Turkish Presidency Fahrettin Altun, and Erdoğan's advisor on foreign policy and security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.
