The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan delivered the Friday sermon, confirming that "there is nothing more important than responding to President Nabih Berri's call for dialogue and electing a president immediately; those who neglect President Berri's invitation are actual and open partners in the void." Qabalan pointed out that "we have entered the school and university season, and the state's presence in this sector is close to zero; we need to rescue Lebanon's educational wealth so it does not become a dumping ground for everything." He emphasized that "for the thousandth time, without saving the job markets from foreigners, there is no stability for Lebanon, especially as the wave of economic displacement consumes everything, and we must rescue the public sector and secure dignified salaries for employees, with increases based on the foundation; otherwise, we are facing a state that is heading towards more destruction and collapse." He noted that the social and economic situation has become extremely tense, necessitating cooling measures, and the tax on the deceased reveals confusion in the budget project. While we certainly support securing the state's finances, it must be alongside the recovery of the health and education sectors and the protection of Lebanese labor.
Qabalan highlighted that "the balance of Lebanon's sovereignty (borders, sovereign decision, and national security), and resistance is a sovereign guarantor; the sovereign decision awaits someone to respond to the call for dialogue to end the vacancy and begin finding solutions to save what remains of Lebanon."
Qabalan concluded: "What is happening in the Ain al-Hilweh camp definitely does not serve Palestine or Lebanon, and we must always recognize that the security of the camps is a national necessity, and we should always search for the Israeli factor. Therefore, it is essential to protect the security of the camps by all means, in a manner that aligns with Lebanese security, and we must always keep our eye on Palestine."
