Horrific Crime in Aley: Woman Kills Husband and Burns Body with Acid

Lebanon woke up on Monday to the news of a shocking crime that shook the city of Aley and the entire country. Fadi Alaya wanted to marry Lina N.D. despite his family's opposition. He insisted and married her, having two children with her. However, in recent times, disputes arose between them, and he left home shortly before his disappearance. The wife attempted to appease him by preparing a final meal.

Fadi Alaya, who was preparing to divorce his wife, as confirmed by the victim's sister without going into details about the reasons for his decision, alluded to suspicions he had regarding his wife's infidelity with a Syrian national. He had caught her in their home with her lover, leading him to fire a gun to intimidate them without injuring anyone, resulting in his imprisonment. After being released, he returned to his family, and his wife asked for forgiveness, but the disputes continued.

On August 20, Fadi left his sister Faten's house where he had spent the weekend after Lina lured him for lunch, after which he disappeared. The wife told her sister that the company he worked for had sent a car to pick him up. However, the wife, who meticulously planned her crime, deceived the family into believing that a Syrian man had called her from her husband’s phone, which was found in a bag containing shawarma sandwiches, attempting to imply that Fadi had been kidnapped. The family then approached the security forces, and Faten resorted to social media to gather any information about her brother or his abductors.

However, the security forces, aware of the previous disputes with the wife, suspected her involvement in the disappearance, especially since the person who claimed to have found the phone communicated with her exclusively. As investigations progressed, the truth began to unfold, and Lina confessed to her crime with the Syrian "Hudaifa Azzam," who fled to Syria and went into hiding. Lina guided the security forces to the location of the body in Ras el-Jabal in Aley.

Sources reveal that the husband had scheduled a court date for his divorce two days before he disappeared, but Lina lured him to their home, where she poisoned his lunch before she and Hudaifa transported him to Ras el-Jabal, where they buried him. However, they did not stop at murder; they poured acid on the body, incinerating it to conceal the victim's identity.

The investigation also involved the wife's brother, who was later released due to his lack of involvement in the crime, while the search for the fugitive Syrian continues, with coordination with Syrian security forces for his arrest. After conducting necessary tests to confirm the victim's identity, the body was handed over to the victim's family, and burial rites took place yesterday.

The victim's family issued a statement denying Maher Nasr al-Din’s alleged connection to the murder of his brother-in-law, the late Fadi Alaya, demanding punishment for the killers, including his sister Lina if proven involved. They expressed their outrage at his statements and skepticism regarding his sister's involvement in such a heinous crime, emphasizing that she confessed, detailing her heinous actions from poisoning him to dismembering his body.

They noted, "This crime has not been witnessed in our honorable community since the dawn of the call, and it is beyond human comprehension." The family concluded the statement by expressing confidence in the judicial system’s integrity and advised Lina’s family to remain silent, stating “the conscience is more paramount than familial ties.”

The Internal Security Forces issued a statement regarding the circumstances of this horrific crime and revealed that the victim's wife admitted to putting large amounts of "Laniet" poison in her husband's favorite dish, "Molokhia." It was clarified that she committed the crime after suspecting his involvement with a friend of her husband, a Syrian. The statement detailed the wife's attempts to conceal evidence by using her husband’s phone to send messages pretending he was fine, claiming he had gone to Syria, pointing to her cold-blooded betrayal. The crime was uncovered by the Information Branch, leading to her arrest.
