Russian Defense: Our Forces Repel Ukrainian Incursion into the Country

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a statement on Saturday that "Russian forces continue to repel a Ukrainian incursion into the country." Russia has implemented a broad security regime in three border regions and has mobilized troops to confront the largest Ukrainian counteroffensive on Russian territory since the outbreak of war in 2022. Additionally, the Russian nuclear agency announced today that the cross-border attack launched by Ukraine "poses a direct threat" to a nuclear power plant located less than 50 kilometers from the combat zone. Russian news agencies quoted "Rosatom" as saying that "the actions of the Ukrainian army pose a direct threat" to the Kursk nuclear power plant in western Russia near the border with Ukraine, adding that "at present, there is a real risk of strikes and provocations from the Ukrainian army."
