Preparations Begin for the Implementation of Plans to Ascend to Arafat

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for Hajj Affairs, Ayed Al-Ghuwainem, confirmed the completion of the operations for elevating pilgrims to the holy sites this morning. This allows them to spend the Day of Tarwiyah in a spiritually comfortable atmosphere, thanks to God's blessing and the integrated field efforts among all security and service sectors. This was mentioned during the daily press conference for the 1445H Hajj season held by the Ministry of Interior today, the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah, featuring the security spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior and the official speakers from the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, Health, Transport, and Logistics Services.

Dr. Al-Ghuwainem also noted the commencement of all arrangements for implementing the plans to ascend to the Arafat area, according to the agreed-upon timelines and sequence, by preparing the entire transportation and crowd management system and enhancing its operational and organizational readiness. This is due to the practical application of five successful simulation exercises conducted with God's grace, involving over 15,000 buses and 40,000 field participants over the past five months.

He pointed out that the most notable developmental projects in the holy sites included improvements in water networks and enhancing electrical power, aimed at improving services and raising accommodation efficiency. These developments are the result of the exceptional efforts of partners in the Ministries of Energy, Environment, Water, Agriculture, and the Royal Commission for the City of Makkah and the Holy Sites. He added that the digital transformation processes, primarily represented by the Nusuk card in both its digital and printed forms, have contributed to a significant shift for pilgrims in accessing services, reducing the occurrence of many negative practices, and improving guidance and direction operations. He mentioned that the number of scans of the QR code printed on the Nusuk card exceeded 3 million scans.
