The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qablan delivered a Friday sermon at Imam Hussein Mosque in Burj al-Barajneh, where he stated, "With the unprecedented massacres in Gaza, the world seems to be engulfed in the worst barbarity led by Washington, and supported by Europe in a manner that backs the worst terrorist entity, the Zionist regime, which practices killing, destruction, and comprehensive extermination amidst normalization, Judaization, and unprecedented Arab silence and ambiguity. This moment is historic, the entire region is on the brink of the abyss, and what is required is the political protection of Lebanon. The presidential settlement is of utmost necessity and accelerating it is a sovereign imperative for Lebanon; waiting or political negligence is lethal, and waiting for what happens in Gaza will not benefit the waiters."
Mufti Qablan addressed the Arabs, saying, "Your interests do not lie with Tel Aviv or Washington; now is the time for confrontation by all means and methods. Being defeated and falling into the trap of normalization means a catastrophe that will sweep away the Arabs. America is an enemy of the Arabs and the region, and it will not be your ally. Thus, it is essential to save Gaza, regional interests, and the security partnership of some Arab countries with Washington, which has transformed into an air defense system, to defend Tel Aviv, which is waging the fiercest wars for America and Europe with the backdrop of NATO interests at the expense of Palestine and Gaza."
He added, "It is very unfortunate that the Arabs in the Gaza war adopt a position of non-existence, which is the worst disaster threatening the existence of Arabs."
Mufti Qablan directed his message to the Lebanese people: "National unity is the most important thing in this fateful moment, and political unity even more so because what is happening now concerns the very existence of the entire region. Lebanon is at the heart of the storm, and your neutrality is of no use. What is required is to secure a national unity that transcends sects, and be cautious of sectarian tensions and vendetta sentiments because what is happening now is heading towards an end, but Lebanon will remain."
He affirmed that "what the resistance is doing is a national guarantee and a sovereign shield, making it a source of pride for Lebanon and the region. The blaze affecting the region is almost burning Lebanon were it not for the resistance. Today, Lebanon, the state, the institutions, and the existence of the country are all dependent on the resistance and its sovereign strength. The mad calculations of Tel Aviv will be the reason for its uprooting from this region."
