The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Arab and Islamic countries to impose a comprehensive boycott on Israel in terms of oil, trade, and diplomacy, while praising the Riyadh summit and its outcomes. Al-Sadr stated in a press release, "I cannot but commend what the Islamic and Arab countries issued in their meeting yesterday in condemning and denouncing the actions of the terrorist Zionists against the Arab land of Palestine." He added, "They also demanded an end to the siege and the collective punishment against civilians."
He expressed hope that "this would be the first step and not the last from Islamic and Arab leaders... and that they keep their meeting open and ongoing in response to the continued Zionist terrorism against Palestine in general and Gaza in particular." Al-Sadr proposed that Islamic and Arab leaders should "declare a state of readiness for Islamic and Arab armies... for if Gaza and the resistance fall, it will be the end for others."
He called for a "comprehensive economic boycott of the Zionist enemy, halting direct and indirect oil supplies to the Zionist enemy - if any exist, shutting down Israeli embassies, and criminalizing normalization for all Arab and Islamic countries." Al-Sadr emphasized the importance of "delivering medical and life-saving aid to Gaza regardless of the wishes of the Zionists."
He urged "a strong threat against the countries supporting the Zionist entity, especially the United States as the main supporter, by threatening to close its military bases in Islamic and Arab countries." He affirmed the need to "stop official and unofficial voices that support the Zionist entity in our countries by penalizing them under the applicable laws in each state."
Al-Sadr demanded that "the Arab and Islamic peoples demonstrate simultaneously for Gaza and not heed those who unjustly and aggressively prohibit it." He pointed out the necessity of "supporting the Palestinian resistance in the negotiation regarding Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, as well as others who have been held in the prisons of the Zionist occupation for years, advocating for their release." He stressed the need to "attempt to criminalize the Zionist entity by labeling its leaders as war criminals."
