Tensions Persist in the South: New Israeli Strike on Journalists in Yaroun

The Israeli army targeted the media team present in the town of Yaroun in southern Lebanon with two rocket shells on Monday afternoon, resulting in minor injuries to two individuals. This attack comes amid renewed confrontations between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on the southern front.

Intensive Israeli shelling and airstrikes on southern Lebanese areas today resulted in the deaths of two citizens and several injuries. The Islamic Scout teams worked to transfer the injured to Salah Ghandoor Hospital in Bint Jbeil. The central operations room of the Civil Defense issued the following statement: "Civil Defense personnel from the Islamic Scout Association in Ainatha evacuated two martyrs who fell as a result of the Israeli shelling on the outskirts of the town." In this context, six Israeli shells landed on the outskirts of Aita al-Chaab from the southern and western sides.

A field source indicated that "the Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the town of Al-Jibeen." In addition, the outskirts of Labunah and the town of Naqoura were also subjected to Israeli bombing since early morning, with sirens sounding at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. At the same time, the outskirts of Tayyirah, Shihein, the towns of Yaroun, Al-Bustan, and Umm al-Tout were shelled by Israeli forces, and a guided missile was launched from within Lebanese territory.

In the afternoon, sirens sounded in northern Haifa and Safed due to suspected drones heading towards the Avivim site. Hezbollah announced in a statement: "We targeted the Rahib site with appropriate weapons and achieved direct hits, and we also targeted an infantry unit near the Branit barracks with guided missiles, resulting in confirmed casualties among the dead and injured."

Israeli media reported: "A barrage of heavy rockets was launched towards Kiryat and settlements in the north." Hezbollah announced they had targeted the "Ramtha site in the occupied Shebaa Farms with appropriate weapons, achieving direct hits," in addition to targeting the "Hadab Yaroun site with appropriate weapons, achieving direct hits." The outskirts of the town of Dahira were also bombed, leading to fires in the adjacent forests, and a rocket barrage was recorded from within Lebanese territory towards western Galilee.

The Islamic Resistance mourned one of its members, Ali Mahdi Saif al-Din, known as Dhul Fiqar, from the town of Halabta and residing in Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley. The Islamic Resistance published a report on the number of Israeli injuries since the beginning of the war until the morning of Sunday, 12/11/2023, confirming that it is based on an official website of the Israeli Ministry of Health, including the number of injuries and those receiving treatment in hospitals in Haifa and the north.

The following are the new injury figures: Haifa and the north - Safed: 717; Haifa and the north - Nahariya: 529; Haifa and the north - Rambam: 81; Haifa and the north - Hillel Yafeh: 43; Haifa and the north - HaCarmel: 16; Haifa and the north - HaMerkez Bi'Omik: 9; Haifa and the north - MR Shamal (Foria): 8; Haifa and the north - Bnei Tzion: 2; Total: 1405.

In contrast, Israeli media stated that "it became clear yesterday that Hezbollah is the one who decides who lives and who dies at the northern border." It revealed that the seven injuries resulting from mortar shells in Al-Manara at the border with Lebanon yesterday led to the amputation of some soldiers' limbs due to shrapnel.
