Colleagues of Farah Omar at the Faculty of Media Light Candles in Commemoration of a Week Since Her Martyrdom

This evening, comrades of the martyr journalist Farah Omar lit candles at the Faculty of Media - Branch One at Lebanese University, marking a week since her martyrdom alongside her colleague, photojournalist Rabih Maamari, and collaborator Hussein Akeel, who were targeted by Israeli forces in Tyre Harfa, southern Lebanon, while carrying out their professional duties. Farah's peers, graduates of the faculty, carried her photographs alongside students, professors, and a crowd of journalists and supporters, in an atmosphere characterized by silence and solemnity. The attendees recalled the martyr's journey and life, from her time as a student with them in the faculty to the moment of her martyrdom as a field correspondent on the southern front, pledging to "carry the name and voice of Farah and continue her mission, seeking justice against the Israeli murderer, describing her assassination alongside Rabih and Hussein as a documented war crime, within the framework of the systematic Israeli targeting of journalists that constitutes a crime against humanity."
